Nishani photographed my family for an engagement party and the pictures came out stunning. Nishani showed up early, came prepared, included everyone, and made sure to capture all the small moments ad exchanges between people who hadn't seen each other in years--and tastefully captured the energy of the whole afternoon! She photodocumented all the decor, every single guest, made sure to highlight the happy couple and do a mini photoshoot of them and their separate families.
As a person, Nishani is extremely talented, patient, and kind. What strikes me most is how generous she is with her time, energy, and resources. She is respectful and professional, but makes you feel very at ease in front of the camera with her gentle spirit!
I highly recommend her for family portraits! I have babysat for several families in the area for which she has photographed their family portraits--and they all came out beautifully. She does great work with black and white, but I especially like the color prints. She has a fierce eye and great timing.
I can't wait for her to do my headshots, and do a photoshoot of me and my family in the park this summer, and my future engagement photos, and wedding pictures, and every event I'll ever have!

Nishani is a gifted photographer. She photographed our 8 month old twins beautifully and made everyone feel completely comfortable. We got so many good shots and we will treasure the photos. She is also outgoing without being imposing. She is really wonderful at her job and you will get great pictures!
Nishani is an extraordinarily talented photographer. In only an hour, she took the most amazing shots of my baby (for her first birthday) and my family. I literally had so many shots that I loved from the session, I couldn't even frame them all. She is easy to work with, affordable, and down to earth. Nishani is a fantastic photographer. She understands how to get the best out of her subjects- no matter if they happen to be extremely cranky one year olds! She truly understands how to photograph children no matter the situation. She was a joy to work with, and was able to calm my daughter down enough to get some amazing photos. I recently hired Nishani to take maternity photos of me. When the day of the shoot arrived I was a nervous wreck and almost backed out. I knew, however, that I would want these photos in the future and that it wasn't exactly something I could keep putting off, so I went ahead with my meeting with Nishani. Within minutes, her calm manner and professionalism put me at ease. I am very modest by nature, yet Nishani persona made me feel that smiling at a camera with my bare belly exposed was perfectly natural.
My son is 2 years old and my desire to include him in many of the shots would have been a miracle, if not impossible, for many people, but for Nishani, her gentle spirit and natural way with children enabled her to communicate and relate to my son in such a way that we have MANY awesome photos of the two (and 1/2?) of us.
I could not have been happier with the results. Nishani listened to my preferences and edited the photos perfectly, with many black-and-whites as I had requested. I would highly recommend Nishani for any occasion!
The only quality that outmatches Nishani's talent as a photographer is her gentle spirit...it is that gentle spirit that provides a very real space for magic to happen. She does not hover or demand or command as a photographer. She allows moments to happen organically and then in a split second she captures one you never remember even happening but are so glad she managed to catch in her net like a wayward butterfly.
Nishani has photographed our family both in smaller, portrait sessions and for events and occasions. We have been beyond thrilled with the outcome of both sets. Nishani's use of color, space and depth is clearly informed by her experience as a filmmaker and artist. Her ability to enhance your natural beauty without over-editing or massive photoshopping is even more of a perk.
I, personally, am someone who hates to be photographed and Nishani is so compassionate and understanding of that fact that she has taken shots of me that I ACTUALLY LIKE and never let me know she was doing it (I guess that is the key with someone who is uncomfortable with the camera). Furthermore, she got my notoriously camera-loathing five year old nephew to take some of the most lovely, beatific and artistic portraits of him that have ever even been attempted (most photographers fail).
Nishani is gifted with talent and pure heart both of which are rare.
We had an amazing experience with Nishani. We did a family photo shoot in Central Park a few weeks ago and loved working with her. She is very professional and sweet. I have a one year old who was having trouble warming up to the camera and Nishani was terrific with him and captured beautiful pictures of him and our entire family. She got our photos to us very quickly and now we have terrific memories. We will definitely work with Nishani again and we would highly recommend her!
Nishani is fantastic! She took maternity and newborn photos for me and I was so happy with the pictures I got. She was able to capture the true feelings and emotions at the time and show case my family in the best light. She is also very personable and friendly and patient. She never made us feel rushed and always guided us to get the best shots. She was able to get the shots effortlessly. Nishani is also very professional and gets back to you promptly. Nishani took pictures of my newborn for me. She is absolutely wonderful! I loved the accessories she brought to use in her photos and the different poses were great. We also did a few family shots and she is awesome with kids. My older son absolutely adored her and was so cooperative. That never happens!
